Steve Tyler, frontman of the rock group Aerosmith and latterly a judge on American Idol, once suffered from this condition. In response to a question about the famous occasion in 2009 when he fell off the stage while performing with Aerosmith (causing the band to call off the remainder of a tour), he told Billboard magazine: "My feet have been my best friend for the last 40 years. I've just been a dancing fool on stage, and after awhile you just kind of wear them out. So I had Morton's neuroma and got operations, and it was hard to walk on the scars from the operations and the reconstructive bones in my feet, and I got caught up in the pharmaceutical drugs the doctors gave me."
So there you have it: Morton's neuroma made Steve Tyler a drug addict, and made him fall off the stage.
